Why is it that my daughter wails and screams when I tell her ‘no’ but doesn’t do so when anyone else does? Grandma and Grandpa tell her no and they get a skeptical look but compliance for the most part. I get a wailing, screaming fit and even pouting in a corner, which is impressive for an almost-fourteen-month-old girl. I know she’s a child and she’s learning and most days are good, but then there are those rough days. It’s more than a little frustrating at times that the simplest “no” will elicit screams of epic proportions. Are we starting the terrible two’s a touch early?
